Spotlight on Leadership: Carol Tomé – CEO of UPS
The Transportation and Supply Chain Institute and DU community held an intimate conversation with Carol Tomé, Chief Executive Officer of UPS and DU alumna, on October 10, 2024. Participants got to hear Tomé's insights about one of the world's largest logistics companies and the future of global logistics. Attendees had the rare opportunity to ask questions and engage with this extraordinary leader.

Chief Executive Officer
DU alumna Carol B. Tomé is the chief executive officer of UPS. She is the 12th CEO in the 117-year history of the company. Before joining UPS, Carol served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of The Home Depot, Inc., one of the world's largest retailers. She joined the company in 1995 as vice president and treasurer. Carol began her career as a commercial lender with United Bank of Denver (now Wells Fargo) and then spent several years as director of banking for Johns-Manville Corporation. Before joining The Home Depot, Carol was vice president and treasurer of Riverwood International Corporation. A native of Jackson, Wyoming, Carol holds a bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Wyoming and an MBA with a concentration in finance from the Daniels College of Business.

Michelle Livingstone
Michelle Livingstone has been actively engaged in the supply chain for 30 years and her passion is the transportation industry. She gained experience and honed her leadership skills at Kraft Foods, J.C. Penney, and C & S Wholesale Grocers, before joining The Home Depot. She served as vice president of transportation and was an officer for over thirteen years.
Michelle now serves as an adjunct professor at the Transportation and Supply Chain Institute at the University of Denver.
