Incoming Executive Director Jack Buffington will officially step into the role in early May

Press Release  •

The University of Denver’s Transportation & Supply Chain Institute (TSCI) is entering a new era, with David Fisher retiring and Jack Buffington set to take the helm as Executive Director, effective May 11.

Since joining TSCI in October 2020, Mr. Fisher strengthened the Institute’s key partnerships and assembled a faculty of renowned professionals reflecting the realities of today’s supply chain landscape. This deepened the Institute’s impact in ways that benefited students as well as the broader industry.

A Professor of the Practice at the University of Denver, Mr. Buffington has played a key role in shaping curriculum and engaging students in real-world supply chain challenges. He’s also Director of Supply Chain and Sustainability at First Key Consulting and has held a range of leadership roles at MolsonCoors. An accomplished author and researcher, he holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Marketing from Luleå University of Technology and completed post-doctoral work at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology.

The transition has been in the works since the beginning of the year, with University leadership and the TSCI Board of Directors working together to ensure a seamless handoff.

As Jack Buffington notes, “For nearly thirty years, TSCI has played a special role within the transportation and supply chain industries, with many of our alumni holding key leadership positions. Our community will continue to play an important role in shaping the future, and I’m excited to be part of it.”
