Name: Brian Meents
Cohort: 15
Graduation Year: 2018
Current Position: Executive Vice President, Account Management, Sales and Marketing, Hub Group

Brian Meents entered the DTI executive master’s program with the 15th cohort. At that time, he served as Vice President, Account Management Hub Group, an intermodal fleet provider based in Chicago. He connected with a diverse group of professionals representing companies like Matson, Trimac Transportation and Maersk. As is customary for DTI cohorts, the group immediately bonded and formed supportive friendships. Meents recalled, “The overall experience was great. Balancing work and the program could be difficult at times but you always had the support of your classmates. We were all in it together and it felt that way. Outside of class we would go to dinner as a group and kept in touch between our weeks in Denver.”

Since graduating, Meents has moved up to EVP, Account Management, Sales and Marketing, overseeing Hub Group’s commercial strategy. He has even represented Hub Group at DTI Board meetings when Board member and Hub Group CEO Phil Yeager could not attend. Of his experience with the DTI Board, he said, “The Board seemed to be in touch with how the program was going and what students wanted to see out of the program.”

Personally, Meents has advanced as well, getting married and welcoming a baby boy, Adam, last year.

As an alumnus in close touch with his cohort, Meents has enjoyed watching the executive master's program grow and evolve. He encourages current and future students to take full advantage of the resources available to them, including the many networking opportunities.
